CRISI RUSSIA-UCRAINA: L’UNIONE EUROPEA SBAGLIA A SANZIONARE LA RUSSIA, E’ COLPA DI ZELENSKY NON DI PUTIN

RUSSIA-UKRAINE CRISIS: EU WRONG TO SANCTION RUSSIA, IT’S ZELENSKY’S FAULT NOT PUTIN’S

The Minsk agreements have not been respected by the Ukrainian government, the ongoing war since 2014 in the Donbass has never ceased, and the populations of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics are being persecuted despite their temporary status of local self-government following a referendum won by Russian-speaking separatists with 79% of the vote. Last month, with Zelensky’s demand for immediate EU and NATO membership, breaking time-honoured international treaties on Ukrainian neutrality, the Kiev government openly defied and threatened the Russian Federation. A serious mistake given that Henry Kissinger, former US Secretary of State, had declared in 2014 “The country must be a bridge, not an outpost” and that Putin himself already in 2017, interviewed by American filmmaker Oliver Stone’s “The Vladimir Putin Interviews”, declared that Russia would respond militarily in the event of Ukraine’s annexation into NATO.
.
Consequently, Putin’s military operations are only a defence against Zelensky’s concrete danger of authorising NATO missile bases in Ukraine, who is solely responsible for both civilian and military casualties in an inevitable war caused solely by the comedian-dancer president’s dastardly decision, the latter should, for the sake of his country, abdicate immediately to put an end to further massacres. I also find the position taken by the European Union to be a serious mistake. Instead of ensuring a balance between the West and the Russian Federation by preventing Ukraine from joining NATO by remaining neutral and convincing Zelensky to resign, it has decreed to sanction Putin and supply arms to Ukraine to fuel a longer-lasting and bloody war, forcing the civilian population to suffer a terrifying agony of victims and mass exoduses.
